The Five Star Institute

The Five Star Institute is a media company based in Dallas, TX with offices located nationwide in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia.
At The Five Star Institute I was the social media lead and brand manager for all company brands including:
- The Crockin’ Girls
- Jobs: Get Inspired Movie (Starring Ashton Kutcher)
- DS News Magazine/DSNews.com
- The M Report Magazine/TheMReport.com
- The Five Star F.O.R.C.E.
- The Five Star Default Servicing Conference and Expo
Upon arriving at The Five Star Institute, I was tasked with developing the social media strategy for all company-owned brands. My first intuition and process was to begin tracking data and analytics for our current social media activity. After analyzing data analytics, I put a plan into place to drive more traffic to our companies’ websites and also organically increase our social media following from the our existing user base. In addition, I also put forth and executed a plan to bridge our traditional media marketing with digital and social media marketing. This allowed for cross-platform user acquisition between our magazine subscribers and our social media followers.
My biggest projects included The Crockin’ Girls and Jobs: Get Inspired, a feature film executive produced by The Five Star Institute.
The Crockin’ Girls were two women from Grapevine, TX who created a viral sensation that catapulted them to becoming best selling authors. At their peak, they reached over 1 million fans on Facebook. My task was to keep the momentum going and take things to the next level.
Jobs: Get Inspired was Five Star’s first feature film. The cast was filled with A-List celebrities including Ashton Kutcher, Josh Gad, and Dermot Mulroney.
My task? Help develop a social media strategy to build buzz and anticipation for the upcoming feature film through our social media networks.
